Precision Diagnostics. Verified Performance. Engineered Reliability.
Systematic testing, commissioning, and diagnostics services for MV/LV electrical systems. Every engagement produces a documented engineering record — not a verbal clearance.
Power System Diagnostics
Systematic investigation of power system performance issues using calibrated measurement instruments. All diagnostic reports reference applicable IEC standards and include documented findings, measured data, and specific remediation actions.
Power Quality Analysis
Class A power quality measurements per IEC 61000-4-30. Parameters measured include voltage sags, swells, interruptions, unbalance, flicker (Pst and Plt), and frequency deviation. Results benchmarked against EN 50160 or site-specific contractual supply quality limits.
Harmonic Analysis
Current and voltage harmonic spectrum measurements to the 50th harmonic order. Total harmonic distortion (THDi and THDv) calculated per IEC 61000-2-2. Reports include harmonic source identification and passive or active filter sizing recommendations.
Thermal Imaging
Infrared thermography surveys of MV/LV switchgear, cable terminations, busbar connections, and distribution transformers. Radiometric images provided with temperature differentials. Findings categorized per IEC/ISO 18434-1 severity classification criteria.
Load Analysis & Root Cause Investigation
24- to 72-hour load profiling for capacity planning, utility tariff optimization, and overload identification. Root cause analysis reports for recurring fault events, unexplained protection operations, and equipment failures. Written findings with corrective action schedules.
Diagnostic Workflow
| Step 01 — Site Briefing | Review of single-line diagrams, historical fault records, and client-reported symptoms. Define measurement scope and prepare safety method statement. |
| Step 02 — Instrument Deployment | Calibrated Class A power quality analyzers installed at relevant measurement points. Thermal imaging survey of all accessible live electrical equipment. |
| Step 03 — Data Analysis | Measured data benchmarked against IEC standards and facility operating parameters. Fault identification, quantification, and source attribution. |
| Step 04 — Engineering Report | Written report with findings, measured data, photographic evidence, and prioritized corrective actions. Signed by the responsible engineer. |
Testing Services
All testing is carried out using calibrated test equipment with current calibration certificates. Test results are documented on standardized test sheets and countersigned by the responsible engineer. No verbal clearances — written test records are provided as a minimum deliverable on every engagement.

Commissioning Services
Commissioning is the systematic process of verifying that an installed electrical system performs as designed, under safe and controlled conditions. 1MB Engineering produces a written commissioning procedure document before site mobilization and issues a commissioning completion certificate at project handover.
New Installations
MV/LV System Commissioning
Systematic pre-energization testing sequence followed by controlled live commissioning. Sequence-of-operations verified against the design intent. Single-line as-built drawings updated to reflect actual installed configuration before handover to the client.
Generator Synchronization Testing
AMF (Automatic Mains Failure) and manual synchronization testing. Paralleling protection functions (ANSI 25, 27, 59, 81) verified at commissioning. Generator load testing carried out at 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% of rated load with documented performance data.
Protection Coordination Verification
Relay settings verified against approved coordination study. Trip time grading checked across the protection hierarchy. As-commissioned relay setting schedules issued at project handover.
Compliance Verification & As-Built Validation
As-built documentation validated against approved design drawings. IEC 60364 compliance check on all LV distribution elements. Regulatory sign-off documentation prepared for submission to RURA or the relevant authority having jurisdiction.
Existing Installations
Retrofit Testing
Post-modification testing following panel upgrades, feeder additions, or protection relay replacements. Verification that the retrofit installation does not compromise overall system protection coordination or introduce new fault conditions.
Fault Investigation
Structured root cause analysis for protection misoperations, unexplained equipment trips, and electrical failures. Event sequence reconstruction using relay fault records, disturbance recorder data, and SCADA event logs.
System Performance Audits
Periodic electrical system audits to verify that protection relay settings are current, thermal loading of cables and switchgear is within design limits, and engineering documentation accurately reflects the as-installed configuration.
Load Bank Testing
Resistive and reactive load bank testing of standby generators, UPS systems, and automatic transfer switches. Required annually for critical facility power systems in healthcare, data center, and emergency service applications.
